Time for School

Hmm... where did I leave off? I spent my last week at home packing, running errands, and hanging out with friends. Wednesday was my last day as at Domino's, and Tuesday I went to a Domino's company picnic at Vaughn Road Park. Thursday night I went to La Bambas and Krispy Kreme with a group of friends; I had a lot of fun spending time with everyone and catching up. : )

I spent a good deal of time packing Friday night and most of Saturday as well. It turned out to be a good thing that my floor moved in last in the building. My mom and Morgan came up to Birmingham with me Saturday and helped me move all my stuff which, surprisingly, fit in one car. I was a little worried about all my stuff fitting in my dorm room, but after I unpacked there was a place for everything. I have all my books for school now and I've found all my classes, so I am excited and prepared for class tomorrow! I only have two classes, Foreign Cultures from 9:30-10:45 and Anthropology 101 from 11:10-12:15.

Summer is winding down...

Summer is almost over! I can't believe it has gone by so fast. Anne left for her birthday trip with Grammy and Papa yesterday. She is really excited about getting her passport stamped in Canada and plans on bringing back Canadian bacon for all her friends. I guess they don't realize it's the same thing as ham. I'm still waiting to find out who my roommate is... maybe the letter will get here today. : ) This past week or so I've been working on cleaning out my room and packing stuff up for college. I am realizing that I have a lot of stuff. On Tuesday I went to the Warped tour in Atlanta. It was amazing! Christy and I saw 12 bands while we were there, and we got several cds, t-shirts, autographs, sunglasses, etc. I caught a drumstick from alanagrace's concert, and I got it signed! The weather was nice all day until the very last show, so the few music fans brave enough to stay outside got to enjoy an incredible concert in the rain. All in all, it was a wonderfully exhausting day.

First Entry

Well, I guess I've put this off long enough. This blog's goal is to update all of you about my life in college and what I'm up to! Since Anne wants me to help finish setting up doll school this is going to be a short post. Orientation went well last week. I am now officially registered as a college student at UAB! I am going to have 16 credit hours this semester to add to the 21 hours I acquired at LAMP as an AP student. I am going to be taking Finite Mathematics, British and Irish Literature, Foreign Cultures, Cultural Anthropology, Renaissance- Modern Art, and a Humanities Seminar. I am really excited about starting classes! The coolest thing about my schedule though is my 4 day school week. I end classes on Thursday around lunchtime so I will be able to come home and visit for extra long weekends! More updates on college to follow and a post about my Colorado trip.
